DIBP increases Partner Visa fees by 50%

The Department of Immigration has announced that they will be increasing their fees for Partner visa applications by up to 50% - a substantial amount when current prices, just for the Primary Applicant vary from $3,085 to $4,575 for a permanent visa application. Additional applicant’s fees will be increasing as well.

Spain to be added to the list of countries on Australia's Work and Holiday visa program

On 3 September, an agreement between Australia and Spain was announced, that means (when it takes effect) young adults from Spain and Australia will be able to take working holidays in each other's countries.

Change to visa medical examinations

As of 28 July 2014, DIBP have announced that BUPA will be the new medical services provider for visa medical examinations.

SA confirms additions to their State Nominated Occupation List

Further to our update yesterday, the South Australian Government website has published changes to their State Nominations, including new occupations that have been added to their State Nomination Occupation List
These include

  • Advertising Manager
  • Regional Education Manager
  • Special needs teacher
  • Art Administrator or Manager
  • Nurse Practitioner
  • Finance Broker
  • Financial Investment Manager

Changes to the State occupation listings - at first glance - 1 July 2014

As we roll over into July, changes to the State occupation listings will be coming into effect. At first glance, when going through the websites, we have found the following.

Changes to the CSOL and SOL confirmed

DIBP has released the changes to the Consolidated Sponsored Occupation List (CSOL) and Skilled Occupation List (SOL) for migration to Australia. As mentioned in previous releases, Chefs, Bricklayers and Wall and Floor Tilers have been added to the SOL. Further to that, Hydrogeologists and Exercise Physiologists have been added to the CSOL. There have also been some changes to some occupation titles, and assessing authorities.
